About the role

Reporting directly to the Accountant , this position will commence as a 6-month temporary engagement. Your mission is to ensure accurate and timely financial processing. You will take ownership of the end-to-end fortnightly payroll for approximately 40 staff. Additionally, you will oversee the accounts receivable function.


Core responsibilities include:

  • End-to-End Payroll: Process fortnightly payroll accurately for approximately 40 staff, managing wages, overtime, allowances, and deductions.
  • Records & Compliance: Maintain employee lifecycles (starters to terminations) and ensure compliance with STP, superannuation guarantee contributions, and ATO reporting.
  • Accounts Receivable: Drive the AR function by preparing timely invoices, proactively collecting outstanding debts, and maintaining accurate aged debtors reports.
  • Systems & Awards: Upload ABA files and navigate the Mechanical & Electrical award
  • Stakeholder Support: Confidently manage customer account queries and resolve payroll-related questions for internal staff and management.


About you

We are looking for a driven professional who can manage competing priorities and consistently complete their work within deadlines. Your expertise should include:


  • Core Experience: Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing and accounts receivable management. Additional experience in Accounts Payable is desirable.
  • Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with Sybiz Vizypay is desirable. However, experience using any other HCM , or payroll software such as MYOB, Xero, or KeyPay is perfectly fine. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Legislative Grasp: A strong working knowledge of superannuation legislation, the Fair Work Act, and ATO reporting requirements, including Single Touch Payroll (STP).
